Every Monday between June and August, Bryant Park, located behind the New York Public Library in midtown Manhattan, between 40th and 42nd Streets and 5th and 6th avenues; opens the doors at 5:00 p.m. The spectators spread their blankets and start to enjoy the food that is allowed to enter and get ready to enjoy the film that is projected from 8:00 PM.
Our advice:
The entrance to Bryant Park is on 42nd Street with 6th Avenue, parking is available on the 6th Avenue and 41st Street and it is free for bicycles.
A communication service in real-time translates subtitles; help devices are available for every movie.
For the security of all the attendees to the Film Festival, bags, briefcases, backpacks will be inspected before entering the lawn area (the garden and surrounding gravel).
The gravel area surrounding the lawn opens at 4:00 p.m. The lawn opens at 5:00 pm.
In case of leaving the grass area, all packages, bags, etc… will be inspected once again for re-entry.

The oasis of downtown Midtown Manhattan is Bryant Park, located between 40th and 42nd Streets with 5th and 6th Streets, located next to the New York Public Library. It is an unparalleled public place, where you will find an escape from the loud city and for those who are looking for something different there are cultural events, games, pastimes and free shows that change from month to month. Bryant Park is surrounded by flowers that are changing according to the seasons and has 100 species of shrubs and perennial plants; more than a park it could be described as a beautiful Parisian style garden and a haven of peace.

Bryant Park Café an American-style outdoor coffee-bar both located at the terrace on 42nd Street.

Bryant Park is like a tranquility heart and open air in the city, where workers escape from the surrounding buildings during their lunch break to eat at public tables and listen to the free piano concert that can be enjoyed on Fridays from 12:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and other days from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lie down in the center of the park to take in some nice sun with the wonderful view of the skyscrapers of Midtown Manhattan, one of the most outstanding architectural performances in the world that are worth to enjoy.
Bryant Park is a place to socialize, relax or entertain with one of the many table games that the park offers for Chess and Backgammon tournaments fans, during the summers from Monday to Friday from 11am to 7pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 9:00 pm, with a minimum cost for every half hour. Other free games that the park offers are: Quoits, Scrabble and Chinese Chess, and there is a designated area for playing Pentaque and Ping Pong and an area just to read comfortably under umbrellas where you will find a variety of books and magazines donated for adults and children. One of the most famous attractions is the Carousel created to complement the classic French style of the park, open from June to December and it costs $2 per ride. Please keep in mind that the activities and their schedules are changing according to the seasons.

The Bryant Park offers year-round daily events for the enjoyment of locals and tourists. In February, the park becomes a runway and famous designers make a party of the fashion week. Between May and September for those who enjoy sports can attend free yoga or Tai Chi classes; also in the same dates, lessons are taught about the different types of birds that migrate to this oasis. Monday, Tuesday and Friday free fishing classes and language lessons, such as Japanese, French, Italian and Spanish. During the summer, July through August, HBO Summer Festival is presenting a free movie every Monday and to accompany this season, every Thursday between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm Broadway plays are presented. From April to October enjoy the traditional opening of leisure, where summer activities including Ping Pong, chess games and petanque games.
The magic of this park does not end wrapping us with events like the fall festival, which occurs daily during the month of September, where famous singers of all kinds of music are presented. We cannot forget the centerpiece of Bryant Park in the winter, the City Pond, a free ice skating rink, there are also skate rentals. And to finish programming the year, from the first days of November, the Christmas market is open.
