The third Monday in February is a federal holiday called the President's Day, commemorating the birth of George Washington, the first president of the United States, and Abraham Lincoln, the 16th US President who ruled during the Civil War. Patriotic parades in several cities, this holiday is used to travel to winter tourist destinations.
