Schedule: Wednesdays at 8:30 pm between July and August
During the summer, movies under the stars are projected around 70th Street. Families, friends and lovers prepare picnics and settle in for a movie in the evening at Pier 1. The film begins when it’s dark enough to see the image on the screen, depending on the sunset, generally at 8:30 pm. There are only 250 seats distributed, you can book your seat when you are on the site. If there are not seats available, sit in front or behind the chairs section. Pets (dogs) are welcome on a leash. Space is limited, if rain occurs, the film is canceled.
Our advice:
This program is free, seats are limited so arrive early; if you cant bring your own chairs or blankets.
It’ll be open two hours before starting the film. Some of the movies are presented with subtitles.
There is also the Pier 1 Coffee shop for those who want to watch the film accompanied by some snacks and a drink in the moonlight.
