Saint Patrick's Day Parade

Date:                  March 17, 2020

Time:                 From 11am to 4pm

With the slogan "Today we are all Irish", comes one of the most popular celebrations of New York City. People dress in green everywhere, the imposing St. Patrick parade is to celebrate the patron saint of the Irish.  More than 250,000 people are part of the parade that runs along Fifth Avenue from 44th Street to 79th passing the emblematic Saint Patrick’s Cathedral.  Close to two million spectators attended the parade, it is held on March 17 from 11 am until 4 pm.

The parade is heading it by the Third Infantry Regiment in the U.S., followed by musical bands, pipers and academic groups within the American Union and Irish groups.

The celebration starts with a group of nostalgic military and Irish immigrants who were part of the British army in the North American colonial territory.

The event represents an opportunity to speak Gaelic, interpret the songs that are typical of the bagpipes and wear green, a symbol of national pride formerly banned in Ireland that represents the idea of independence.

Our advice:

Take the train to get there many streets are closed due to the parade.
