This year the Feast of San Gennaro will be celebrated for 11 days from September 14th, till September 24th
The Feast of San Gennaro is celebrated since 1926 by the Neapolitan community at the well-known Little Italy, once the house of famous gangsters and Italian mafia; it's one of the most typical festivities in New York. Mulberry Street between Houston and Canal, it's full of colors, processions, parades, entertainment, music, and a great variety of delicious Italian meals, one of the most famous events is the competition of who can eat the most cannoli.
The central focus of the celebration takes place every September 19th, the official day of the saint, this day people attend a mass and follow a procession from the church called "Most Precious Blood" through all little Italy streets. You can't miss this legendary event in which for sure you will have fun in the transformed streets filled with garlands and fascinating smells, where not only you will be able to delight eating cannoli, pizzas sausage, and much other delicious foods, but also enjoy games that you will find along Mulberry.
