The first Saturday of each month the museum offers free programs of art and entertainment between 5:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
The Brooklyn Museum has one of the best Egyptian art collections in the whole world, it’s a permanent collection and also includes Middle East Classical and Ancient Art, Arts from Africa and the Pacific, have installed 28 era rooms and it has a wide selection of American paintings.
Exhibitions are always changing, a situation that makes the museum very interesting, is one of the largest and oldest museum in the country. It is located just 30 minutes by subway from midtown Manhattan, has its own station newly renovated Metro, and it’s part of a parks complex and gardens from the nineteenth century, which includes Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Prospect Park zoo.
Our advice:
Some programs from the first Saturday, because of the limited capacity of the museum, require a fee reserve from 5:00 pm. Admission to the museum is wheelchair accessible and wheelchairs are available in the cloakroom on the first floor, there are bathrooms on the first and third floor, the companions of disabled persons are admitted for free.
The interpretation of American Sign Language is available for adult groups and guided tours for tourists Galleries, reservation tours, assistive listening devices are available for many programs as well, with prior notice.
There is a parking behind the museum and in front the Washington Avenue. Purchases in the museum shop offer a mix of gifts, jewelry, books, crafts, and foods from all over Brooklyn.
Visit Michelin Saul restaurant and bar or The Counter coffee shop, family break room is next to the lobby. The cloakroom service is free and available on the first floor. It offers free wireless access through galleries and gardens during the visit time.
