Williamsburg is a neighborhood that concentrates the bohemian life in New York, the main streets are lined with shops, markets, cafes and bars, it’s a youthful neighborhood, with lots of art and music, crafts and good nightlife; in summer there are free nice concerts to spend a few hours there. What's interesting is the breathtaking view of Manhattan from East River Park, the train stops right in the center of everything. Williamsburg connects to the Lower East Side of Manhattan through the Williamsburg Bridge, a metal structure having bike lanes and pedestrians. For music lovers there are many places where alternative bands play, and whether before or after the concert you want to enjoy a meal, you can always stop for a meal at one of its restaurants; Times Square is 25 minutes far away, taxis are reliable, affordable, in ten minutes for less than $15 it placed in Manhattan. Saturday: fair food and agricultural products. on Sundays: flea markets 10 pm to 5 pm from April to November.

Our advice:

Do not forget to visit Brooklyn Brewery (79 N 11th Street). A brewery with Saturday tours, always ready to offer their products at a local convenient, plus beers. Along Bedford Ave, there are several wine shops, it’s a good opportunity to taste wines from California and compare.

Moviegoers also have their share in Williamsburg, because in its park during the summer, Summer Screen takes place on the outdoor movie festival

A few streets further north you will find the McCarren Park, where you can enjoy a swim in the super pool or skate in the new ice rink in winter.
