New York City Fire Museum

Schedule:   Open daily 10am to 5pm

In order to give recognition to all these heroes dressed in red, Fire Museum of New York was created. Housed in a former fire station dating from 1904, it is visited by more than 40,000 people annually. Retired firefighters are responsible for providing guided tours, telling their experiences helped by the impressive collection.

Exhibitions and collections: It has more than 10 thousand objects, among which is an engine fire considered the oldest in North America, we see hats, helmets, belts, films, documentaries, flashlights, tools, cars, engines, trumpet, rattles, used before the civil war. It has a memorial to the 343 firefighters who died in the 9/11 attacks as artifacts recovered from the World Trade Center.

Our advice:

  • Fun for kids, they have helmets and jackets that can be used.
  • Many of his objects can touch them and take pictures.
  • His monument dedicated to 9/11 has real emotional not hesitate visit.
