Roosevelt Island

The Roosevelt Island or Roosevelt Island, is located in the East River between Manhattan and Queens. The small island is 3 kilometers long and 240 meters at its widest part. Roosevelt Island is under the political jurisdiction of Manhattan, although the police services, health and fire correspond to Queens. In the Roosevelt Island currently has a population of 9,500 inhabitants and has shops, restaurants and a sports complex with a football field, swimming pools, basketball courts, tennis courts and a baseball field. To access the island from Manhattan, you can take the line F of the underground, and the Roosevelt Island Tramway, is a ride that everyone should do. It is the nearest thing to feel Superman flying over buildings, highways, and the same East River next to the Queensboro Bridge, and this only for the cost of the ticket for metro. The transport system is integrated with the New York metropolitan area, so if you already have your Metrocard or of unlimited travel can enter the Cable Car only by sliding the card, such as they would in the entries of the underground lines and offers spectacular views in the four minutes it takes to make the trip. Roosevelt Island, is an extremely quiet residential location that allows you to walk along the river and sit and watch Manhattan in one of their parks. If you don't like the quiet and being in parks you will love the experience. Within Roosevelt Island there are several places to eat, Starbucks, chinese food (excellent and at a good price), italian food and a restaurant. On Saturdays the Amish are going to sell their products. Many people don't know, but can lead to the island of Queens. There is a bridge in the borough of Queens that accesses the island. You can take the tram to get there, which is part of the public transport. It is only 3 minutes by tram and you can view the beautiful skyline in the background and the view out to sea.
