Central Park / Sports

Central Park is a popular place among athletes. The Park Drive is the longest street that encircles the park with a total length of about 10 kilometers and is used by runners, cyclists, and skaters. Normally weekend races are held in the park, many of which are organized by the New York Roads Runners. In addition, the renowned New York Marathon culminates here at this park every year. Many other activities are carried out in the park as well. For those who love to skate, Central Park is a good place to show off your skills with this sport. On weekends and holidays, amateurs and professionals meet at the dance circle to show off their skills. To get here, enter the park at 67th street and walk towards the center of the park along Sheep Meadow on Central Park West. You can also find the Central Park Skate Patrol volunteers who will help beginners develop better braking techniques. They are located at the West 72nd entrance on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4pm
