The Museum of Arts and Design is located in Columbus Circle, is a building of 9 floors, it has a theater and a restaurant with the Central Park view, which has 4 floors of galleries and shops. The museum has an open house that allows the public to see the artists work and interact with them in the process and the design of their works; the calendar of "Open Studios" is from 10:00 am to 13:30 and 14:30 to 17:00.

Every first Sunday of the month, families can join a professional artist to explore the galleries and workshops, people who join the expert will have the opportunity to learn through them and how art has developed, its a great experience for people from all ages.

This museum has volunteer teachers who undertake private tours for groups and it lasts 60 minutes, for these visits it must be booked at least with 30 days in advance. The store offers a presentation of design objects, jewelry and fashion.

Our advice:

Every day the Museum offers free tours teacher, including entry and you can meet them in the lobby.

The restaurant is open for lunch, tea and dinner; the menu is American food with Mediterranean influences.

If you want to rent it for private events, the Museum has space for this, including the seventh floor, the atrium and theater for 143 attendees.

Queens Museum of Art is located in Flushing Meadows Park – Corona, in a building constructed for the International Exhibition of 1939. The museum’s main attraction is a model of New York city, built for the World Fair held in 1964, it has 895,000 pieces, becoming the world's largest architectural model; every 15 minutes, a simulation of the night is on, in this New York miniature; looking at it, we have a broader picture of the city that we would observe from Rockefeller Center or the Empire State Building.

Another gem available to see in the museum is an extensive collection of Tiffany’s crystals, these pieces were part of a private collector set, highlighting the great lamp. And for history fans, the museum has a permanent collection of about 10000 items, where nearly 6000 correspond to two World Fairs held in New York in 1939 and 1964.

Our advice:

The first Thursday of each month, at evening hours, admission is free; other days you can pay a suggested price or whatever you want to donate.

If you have a social event, the museum rents saloons capable for 75 to 600 guests, you will count with qualified staff for planning and attending the event.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) is the second most visited museum in the world after the Louvre in Paris. The most important objects of the Metropolitan museum are treasures of classical cultures; The museum's collection is more than two million works of art from around all the world. 

To admire, there is a gallery of knights, weapons and armor, its the only of this kind in the United States, installed on the first floor. Visitors can get a dozen furnished rooms according to different periods of time.  Greek and Roman art is represented in more than 50,000 pieces, many philanthropists donated their collections of Asian art, so the Met contains more than 60,000 pieces of it, with a span of more than 4000 years. 

Although most of the Met on Egyptian art came from private collections, almost half of the current collection comes from discoveries made through archaeological excavations organized by the same museum. The Met has a collection of 5,000 musical instruments from all over the world. Sometimes you dont have time to stop and see one by one of this gems, so you should be selective, Roman and Egyptian's areas are really interesting as well as the pieces on the 2nd floor.

The Cloisters museum and gardens, it’s a branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe, was assembled from architectural elements, both domestic and religious, that largely date from the twelfth through the fifteenth century. Our advice:

In order to make your visit to the Met successful we recommend not to take food and drinks, because are not allowed to enter the galleries, just plastic bottles of water are allowed at the museum’s admission, cameras are not allowed inside the museum, the use of pens in the galleries is prohibited. Strollers are usually allowed in all the galleries. In the cloakroom section, wheelchairs are offered. Backpacks and packages must be left in the cloakroom, but you can bring coats and a small umbrella to the galleries, if you want to avoid long lines, we recommend not to take backpacks or packages with you.

The Museum’s parking is located at Fifth Avenue and 80th Street, is open 24/7. There are spaces reserved for handicap visitors. The museum manages an entrance fee but can be paid according to your budget.

The Brooklyn Museum is one of the biggest and oldest museums of the country; It has elevators to visit the 5 levels. His extensive world famous collection includes more than one and a half million items, from ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary art, representing a wide range of cultures, the building itself is a masterpiece. It is located just 30 minutes by Metro from downtown Manhattan, it has its own subway station recently renovated, it’s part of a group of parks and gardens from the nineteenth century, which also includes Prospect Park, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Prospect Park’ Zoo.

Our advice:

the best time to visit the museum is in the morning, after going around, you may have lunch in the restaurant which has a good menu. 

On the first Saturday of each month, except in September, from 5 pm to 11 pm, the museum houses a huge free party with dancing and performances. 

Several bars offer beer and wine; The coffee shop serves food until closing, parking is limited but free.

One of the largest art museums in the country offers a majestic setting for a wedding.
