Shakespeare in the park is a set of Shakespeare's plays  presented every summer at the open-air Delacorte Theater in Central Park; this  is one of the best free events in the city. Usually, well-known actors are part of the cast, such as Anne Hathaway, Al Pacino, and Denzel Washington who have acted in previous editions.

This event has more than 50 years of tradition with complete success; Having Belvedere Castle in the background and a full moon in the sky create an incredible atmosphere.

Even though tickets are not easy to get due to its high demand, this is a great experience to enjoy.

Food & Drink: there are food and drinks areas where you can find sandwiches, hot dogs, beer wine, etc.

How to get tickets:

Traditional: Tickets are distributed free on the day of the show at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park from 12 noon. Every person older than 5 years will receive 2 tickets.

Our advice:

  • If you want to get these free tickets, we recommend starting making the line no later than 10 am, sometimes people start making the line from 6am. Or you can always try the raffle options.
  • Although it seems contradictory these tickets are easier to get when the season starts, after advertising and good reviews is more difficult to get them.
  • The theater has public restrooms; you should be patience because lines are long.
