When you buy the ticket to visit the Statue of Liberty, it's included in the cost to visit Ellis Island, of course, if you want to visit, it's optional, Ellis is a small island that has a lot of history, about 12 million immigrants cross this island from all over the world to locate in the United States, most of them stayed in New York. At the Museum of the island you can find letters, photographs, personal belongings and all kinds of memories of the time, also they are inscribed on the Wall of Honor, about 600,000 immigrants are there. Today, more than 100 million Americans can find their ancestors who passed through the island.
Our advice:
Use the audio guide, it's free and try to make the tour based on the story that the narrator is telling you and imagine how the events occurred, it’s very touching. If any of your ancestors crossed around the island, you can pay and record his name on the Wall of Honor, you only have to contribute a sum of money to Ellis Island Foundation.

It is recognized as the oldest structure in Manhattan, the only museum in New York dedicated to the history of the War of Independence. Today ,visitors can see the rooms, paintings, artifacts and weapons from the colonial era that explores the revolutionary America, with permanent and temporary exhibitions.
Here an emotional farewell took place with the first US president George Washington and his troops, at the end of the Revolution in 1783.

It is an institution dedicated to culture, life language and art of Native American tribes, one of the best ways to know the true history of North America is visiting the Museum, which is located in the area of Wall Street in a building that for many years hosted the Customs, which has a classical facade dominated by a line of statues representing the five continents and inside it has 44 marble columns that hug an immense hall with a dome decorated by the most important artist and painters. Through its exhibits, visitors can learn the history of some of the most important tribes of North America with a focus on the people of the northeast from the current US territory and its evolution with the arrival of Europeans; it has about one million of archaeological pieces, plus photographic archive with multiple references to the culture from America.
Our advice:
There is a free tour to see and know the museum deeper, architecture and design. It lasts 45 minutes between 1 pm and 3 pm Monday through Friday and Sundays at 3 pm.
Concerts, dance performances, storytelling for children and crafts workshop are also performed.
You will be greeted at the entrance by security personnel who will check you but it will be quick, all bags, wallets, purses, and containers, due to security measures, the lines for entry to the museum are extended during high season and holidays. We ask for your patience, cooperation and help to keep the Museum treasures safe and with a good condition.

Museum of Chinese in America called The MOCA, located in the heart of Manhattan, it tells the story of Chinese immigration through videos, photos and objects. The Museum architecture is an impressive design, a work of contemporary art, has several exhibition halls, interactive displays, multi-purpose auditorium. The Center for Research and Collections MOCA now houses a collection of valuable items including 65,000 artifacts, photographs, objects, documents, oral histories, and works of art, this wide variety of archival material enriches the history of China in United States.
Our advice:
The Museum offers guided tours with a minimum of 8 people and Chinatown walking tours, reservations required at least four weeks in advance, must guarantee the reservation with a deposit.
Flash photography, use of cell phones, food and drinks are not allowed in the galleries of MOCA, smoking anywhere in the museum is not allowed either.
Strollers are permitted all the time.

It is one of the first synagogues in the United States. In December 2007 the Museum completed the restoration; it was a 20-year, $18.5 million effort. Today the Eldridge Street Synagogue is home to the Museum at Eldridge Street, which welcomes people from around the world for tours relating the American Jewish history, school programs, concerts, lectures, festivals and other cultural events, in which we will see artifacts, documents, vintage clothing and wonderful architecture.

The Hispanic Society of America is a museum of research for the study of the arts and culture from Spain, Portugal and Latin America. There is free parking on 155th Street between Broadway and Riverside Drive, also in this direction there is a garage. The Museum does not have cafeteria, but in the surrounding neighborhood there are good bakeries and Spanish and Latin American restaurants.

Founded over thirty years ago, El Museo del Barrio, often known simply as El Museo (the museum) is the only place in New York City dedicated to Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and Latin American art. It is essential for anyone who wants to know the Latin culture from a different perspective.
It was founded by Raphael Montanez Ortiz artist in 1969 and was created with one goal: to end the marginalization of many Puerto Ricans citizens in New York. El Museo aims to publicize and celebrate Latin American culture, at the same time becomes a reference of this culture in the city of New York and the United States.

The National Jazz Museum in Harlem is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the history of Jazz. Founded in 1997 by Leonard Garment, advisor to two US presidents, and an accomplished jazz saxophonist, Abraham D. Sofaer. It has played an important role in preserving legends like Duke Ellington, Benny Carter, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, Count Basie, Billie Holiday and John Coltrane.
Each year the museum produces and presents more than 80 programs in the city, with the participation of hundreds of Jazz artist, to which more than 20 thousand people from around the world come.
