In order to give recognition to all these heroes dressed in red, Fire Museum of New York was created. Housed in a former fire station dating from 1904, it is visited by more than 40,000 people annually. Retired firefighters are responsible for providing guided tours, telling their experiences helped by the impressive collection.

Exhibitions and collections: It has more than 10 thousand objects, among which is an engine fire considered the oldest in North America, we see hats, helmets, belts, films, documentaries, flashlights, tools, cars, engines, trumpet, rattles, used before the civil war. It has a memorial to the 343 firefighters who died in the 9/11 attacks as artifacts recovered from the World Trade Center.

  • Fun for kids, they have helmets and jackets that can be used.

The Children’s Museum of the Arts provides stimulating exhibitions and interactive programs for children between 10 months and 15 years, encouraging them to develop their creative potential through visual and performing arts with over 2000 children's art pieces. The museum emphasizes inclusion, aimed at integrating children with special needs and their families

The CMA is similar to an art studio focused on children. The exhibits are actually working spaces where children can experiment with creating your own art, using a set of materials to sculpt and make collages. With a large amount of materials and different exhibitions at the CMA, your visit can last several hours.

Our advice:

  • All workshops are closed 15 minutes before closing.
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult, maximum three children per adult.
  • Clay Bar is one of the most visited attractions of the museum, the best days to visit are Mondays.
