Our advice:

For safety reasons no bags or large bags are allowed, SCREAM is the interactive experience of terror, it is recommended for people over 12 years. Not suitable for people with heart disease and pregnant women. The cameras are allowed in all public areas, except in the SCREAM one. The entire tour of the museum including Scream one can do it in an average of 2 hours.

As the name implies, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is a museum dedicated to the sea, air and space, Located on the 86st pier, on the shore of the Hudson River, it is the opportunity to visit an aircraft carrier, a submarine and a Concorde. In the tour of the ship you may pass through 4 decks, going from the bridge to the bedrooms. On the flight deck, you would see more than a dozen planes and helicopters from different eras, including the A-12 spy plane Blackbird, the F-14 Tomcat and the AV-8A Harrier. Down, inside the Hangar, there is the museum, where you can see original objects, models and multimedia material.

It has guided tour through the intrepid world, audio tours, simulators and souvenir photos, where visitors have the opportunity to take a souvenir of the best career sites.

There are several types of tours, they have a cost depending on the area you want to visit and age range, capacity between 8 and 20 visitors with area, requires climbing stairs and includes long periods of walking. It is currently the only museum of its kind located in New York, this small museum is in the southern part of Manhattan, it focuses on building designs, construction sites, work and residence, shows the wonder of skyscrapers, comparing New York with Shanghai, how they are similar and different, also the mega-skyscrapers like the Burj Dubai and the Towers of Liberty.

Our advice:

This museum is small, entry is economic, the main gallery consists of a room, which is full of posters, models, videos and wall charts with updated information.

The best thing is the timeline showing how and where skyscrapers under construction in the world were finished, it is also interesting to see pictures of New York from 1850 to today.

Museum of Chinese in America called The MOCA, located in the heart of Manhattan, it tells the story of Chinese immigration through videos, photos and objects. The Museum architecture is an impressive design, a work of contemporary art, has several exhibition halls, interactive displays, multi-purpose auditorium. The Center for Research and Collections MOCA now houses a collection of valuable items including 65,000 artifacts, photographs, objects, documents, oral histories, and works of art, this wide variety of archival material enriches the history of China in United States.

Our advice:

The Museum offers guided tours with a minimum of 8 people and Chinatown walking tours, reservations required at least four weeks in advance, must guarantee the reservation with a deposit.

Flash photography, use of cell phones, food and drinks are not allowed in the galleries of MOCA, smoking anywhere in the museum is not allowed either.

Strollers are permitted all the time.

Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, it is located in the lobby of Forbes Magazine's headquarters in New York City. It's a small museum that shows a lot of perspectives on how an extraordinary person looked at the world in his day. There are paintings that show American history, lifestyle and stories, several paintings of only men's bodies. And it has a gallery that shows the old mechanical trigger (clocks) of many different decades. Forbes showed his passion, discovering new things like steel, mechanical toys, ships, and American life in his time. The gallery also shows other memorabilia, including antique trophies, plus a display of more than 500 toy boats, 12,000 miniature soldiers, and the first Monopoly games. In the Photo Galleries and autographs, rare manuscripts, includes the Abraham Lincoln Emancipation Proclamation.

 

Our Advice:

The gallery has disabled access, wheelchair ramps are located in the fifth entrance on 62nd street, baby cars are not allowed in the galleries, and they should be left at the Security desk.

Photography is not allowed inside the galleries.

Museum of Natural History, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, is one of the largest and most famous museums in the world, you must enter through the 79th Street from Central Park, the Museum consists of 25 interconnected buildings housing 46 permanent exhibition halls, research laboratories, and its famous library, which is one of the leading scientific and cultural institutions in the world.

Since 1869, the Museum has advanced its global mission “to discover, interpret and disseminate information about human cultures, nature and the universe” through an extensive program of scientific research, education, and exhibition.

The collection of the Museum of Natural History is made up of more than 35 million items and is considered the largest in the world. For lack of space and time of visitors, not all objects are exposed at the same time.

Our advice:

  • Among the exhibition halls of the museum, the most visited are biodiversity with hundreds of stuffed animals, minerals and meteorites and especially the dinosaurs, which contains fossils and reproductions natural size, the museum does not disappoint anyone, visitors happiest usually are children, perhaps because of dinosaurs.
  • The Museum is the central character in American comedy "Night at the Museum ''.

The New York Transit Museum located in an old station is one of the leading institutions of its kind in the world and the largest museum in the United States dedicated to urban public transportation history; shows historical artifacts of the New York City Subway, bus, commuter rail, bridge and tunnel systems. Visitors can learn how complex engineering and construction helped establish the system of the city's subway.   • If you have a short time it is an excellent choice.
  • It is a good plan for the whole family, it is an interactive museum where everything can be touched.
  • If you are visiting New York and have planned to visit this museum and some more attractions you can choose to acquire New York Pass.
